This summer has been all about friendships. I've sustained old ones, made new ones, and everything in between. I feel this first summer after college is/has testing/tested my relationships with my friends. Most have thrived and grown, however, one in particular is falling apart, and I'm not thrilled. I love this friend even though we're "in a friend". For all the things he says and does that I don't agree with, I still love him and see the fun-loving and vibrant individual that I connect with on a level I've never connected with anyone before. He just understands a lot of things about me and appreciates those things. Unfortunately, certain aspects of our personalities are clashing (way more than a healthy level) and we're pissing each other off. I wish this clash would end and we could find some way to be friends but recognize that we just disagree about a lot of things but not blow up at each other every time we hit a rough patch.
Well as far as other friendships are concerned, I miss so many people! May 22 was a GREAT day because I got to see Alex and Lauren as they celebrated the fabulous 19th birthday(s) in Canada (note: don't go to Canada if you're under 19). I saw a few of the Brothers the other day and it was wonderful. I'm so happy to be a part of such a great fraternity.
In the dorm (excuse me: Residence Hall) I've made some great new friends. Rory and Matt are intensely hilarious and always the source of a good time or fractured finger...but I digress) I love these guys and can't wait to see them again in the fall. They've showed me a whole 'nother side to life and people at Western (basically anything that ISN'T Dalton)
Christ Guthrie is a BAMF...'nuff said. But along that line includes Mary and Angelica (my new wife). Angelica and I were married in front of Charlie Foster's by a hobo...it was great. The wedding photos are on Facebook. I'm so happy I'm getting to know her better. I love these girls. South Haven trips with Chris, Angelica and Ross are great!
Okay, new bestie. So AJ and I are hanging out now and have found new gbfs in one another. I love this guy, we are so similar and have so much fun together. I never knew that going to the gay bar could be so much fun! (Sorry Lauren and Alex, we went on Pride weekend...so Diversions was PACKED). I danced with a bunch of different guys and just had a great time (especially while AJ tried to juggle men) It was really weird when we saw three different freshmen there. We recognized one of them from Involvement Zone and one of them told us he would be there on Tuesday (CRAZY!)
Speaking of Involvement Zone, it's bee going well. While not everyone that has signed up has been a Music Ed Major interested in CMENC, we've gotten several interested musicians (mostly kids that did band and choir in HS and want to continue). I'm in the process of writing a kick-ass email to them about how to get started in Dalton.

Well...that was a satisfactory and impromptu entry. Of to... well who knows what. :-)
